I Will Be Attending The Seminar

This is a 2 day seminar which I will personally be attending. It’s a MUST for all investors interested in the art of value investing. Value investing is the proven way to a path of not just financial freedom, but immense wealth. This seminar brings some of the best known investors and trainers to impart their knowledge on wealth management to you.

I met Ken Chee and his partner last week and they convinced me that this is a real content, non sales pitch type of seminar. This is the reason why I feel comfortable having this event as a post on my website. It is also an annual event so the price tag of only $49 is definitely worth it for this 2 day event. I will be there, so feel free to contact me if you want to say hello!

EVENT IS OVER. Please see the review for the Value Investing Summit

    Hi Calvin,

Please share with us after you have attended the 2 days seminars. I wish that i can attended but not able to due to my work schedule.

  2. I have received a few enquiries regarding payment for the Value Investing Summit 2012 Malaysia. I understand not many people have RHB which is required for Paypal so I will facilitate payments for local Malaysian banks as well to Maybank, Standard Chartered or OCBC. Each ticket is RM 150.

Please contact me if you are interested!

    Hi All,

Recently I just attended the Value Investing Summit in Singapore on 4th & 5th Feb 2012.

Speaker Ken Chee emphasised too much on Warren Bufett’s way of investing.
He gave examples of how he made $$ from 2 Singapore-listed stocks.
His MIP (millionaire investor program) cost S$3495.
My view is that its an overvalue course with only learning Warren Buffett’s Value investing.
    Not impressed.

Ken also conducts a closed-door free workshop during breaks to interested investor to sign up for his premium course.
It cost about S$8000+ which includes Millionaire Investor Programme, mentoring session, opportunity to meet up in person with management of listed companies and may able to get insider news/tips.

Speaker Attlee Hue works in private equity for more than 5 years and was a practicing lawyer for more than 15 years in the area of corporate law. He gave presention on Value investing on REITs. Very brief information from his 2-hr presentation.
He also offer courses during the seminar.
It cost a whopping S$1999 for a day course w/o mentoring session follow-up and no forum for discussion.

Basically i think the objective of this seminar is to get the audiences to sign up for their programs.
The contents of their presentation were so brief and simple that you can read it on your own from those books about Warren Buffett’s way of Value Investing.

    • Hi invest**,

Thanks for the feedback. Actually, he promised that it will not be selling on stage but pure content. It is also my first time going for the seminar. We will see how it goes.

      Rgds,

  4. Hi, I have attended a few “investment seminars” before. Basically they would give a brief outlines of some principles, and later asked you to sign up for the “more detail/personal coaching” course which cost thousands … Unless you are a totally new to investment, you will learn more by reading 5 to 10 books on the subject matter, and talk to people who really know about investment…

    • Hi Sim! How have you been?

Yup, majority of the seminars are in that manner. As a CFA holder, I think you are better self educating and investing. However, my experience with many people is that they either new or they are totally ignorant on how to invest despite trading the stock market for many years.

  5. I’ve attended Millionaire Investor Program. No doubt we can learn all these knowledge from books. And it’ll probably will take me 1 – 2 years time to complete the books, and then start investing.

By attending MIP, I shorten that learning curve. In 3 days, I’m ready to get into the market.

There’s no right or wrong in attending or not attending, whichever works for you. Where I’m coming from is using money to buy time and experience.

    • Hi Joe,

I agree. Value is subjective, if you find the course useful, you find the time well spent and worth the money then its good value for you. Not everybody will derive the same value out of the same course.

For some people, it does shortern the learning curve when there is somebody to guide them other than just figuring out the books by themselves.
